I have one set up on the 50' pattern. How well it works depends on what you are spreading, and how much. There are two problems. The first is that for urea, or other light products, I don't really think it spreads evenly out that far. For Heavy material, like potash, no problem. For a blend, I think the heavy material goes out the 50', and the lighter material doesn't. The 2nd problem is that you are dumping 25% more material on the spinners, and for higher application rates you really need to slow down, or you will overload the spinners and just dump a streak of material on the ground.

I usually shut the door down a little from the chart, and run 45' spacing if there is any urea being spread. For phosphate or potash, I'll run the full 50'.
