I do have to agree that the dealers are a little more expensive, but you do buy more than just the machine. There is also a loyalty that comes with it. Buy a machine from a competitor or from a ways away and try to be serviced or helped before the guy that buys from the local dealer. Just my way of looking at it. A few more dollars can go a long way when you are broken down.
