Subject: RE: keaton seed firmers on JD1790

Iowa
When setting up a planter we usually run the liquid tube (Do Not use the blue tube that comes with the Keetons, they kink too easy!) up th back side of the seed tube and then using a larger drill bit, like a 1/2",drill a hole through rubber seal that covers row unit shank about 1" forward of rear edge, then using a razor blade cut a slot to previously drilled hole to insert tubing and this will also protect 1/4" fert. tube. Then make a loop around angle brace that supports seed box holding in place with nylon tie-strap then running down RH side of row unit sheet metal we will drill a small hole in sheet metal to hold tube to side of row unit with another nylon tie-strap,then run 1/4" tubing with sensor wire the rest of the way to pump or manifold.
