Subject: RE: Pickup transmission sources

We get our reman transmission from Nusser Motors in Jetmore Kansas. We've only gotten one motor (Chevy 350 with EFI) and one transmission (4L60), both for a 1993 Chevy half ton. The engines supposedly come new and they look like it when they get there. The transmissions are GM remanufactured and come w/ a 3/ year 100,000 mile warranty. The engine is now using a little oil but an acceptable amount since we've put over 150,000 miles on it. The transmission lasted 17,000 miles before it shot metal again (the original had lasted over 300,000). When we turned it in for warranty work they grudgingly sent us another one (they wanted us to bring the truck to them so they could look it over). We had the work done by local people and we had to foot the bill for putting the next rebuilt transmission in, the warranty apparently does not cover more labor.
