Prior to blooms, defoilation in excess of 40%. Once beans bloom and are going to pod fill, defoilation of 15%. Just keep an eye and see if they are staying on top leaves or if they are working down into the canopy.

When you estimate defoilation, pull a few plants and take them to your truck. Start plucking off the leaves and lay them on the hood of the truck or on a table and lay them out. This will help determine what kind of defoilation you are seeing. Most times it will put you at a lot more ease!
