| The 15 stroke per bale rule is to get consistant bales and doesn't have alot to do with baler capacity. With our 4590 we shoot for 15 strokes per bale but it has plenty of capacity to bale twice that fast if you really want to push it. With our Hesston it seems like when you get under 10-12 strokes per bale the bales aren't shaped as nicely and the guys riding the rack don't like it either. Our Hesston is less picky about strokes per bale than the New Hollands we had before were but it's still a good rule of thumb to follow. | |
