Subject: RE: No tilling timothy and trefoil seed into wheat stubble

Orange County NY
I`m doing the same thing with alfalfa and reeds canary into barley stubble. Reeds because it fills in the low spots. If done right it works. We plow some fields, some we try to no till.
The field we are doing has mega rocks so once the rocks get picked you hate to plow it again. It also has a erosion problem. It was no till corn for 2 years , last fall we no tilled barley after the corn was chopped. Now the field is nice and smooth with a few rocks to pick that the frost seems to push up.
We drive slow when seeding so the drill has time to get in the ground.
Take your time ,check to make sure your seed is getting covered and hope for just the right amount of rain. Good luck.
