While Buctril is an option it is pretty weak on pigweeds at lower rates. I would look at Pursuit or Raptor first. All of these have there potential for injury but on established alfalfa the risk drops. Raptor has a 20 day harvest interval, Pursuit and Buctril 30 days. Pigweeds are easy for the imi-class of chemistry plus you get the benefit of annual grass control/suppression with Raptor/Pursuit.
