Caraway, AR
JK,
You've asked a legit question and not got an answer. That disappoints me, but I've been in the same spot before so I will try to shed some light.

The bad part about this is I don't own a 9600 or any JD combine. I do have case/IH combines and JD CP's however.

Can you stall it with the brakes in any gear at WOT. (keeping in mind even a new one can be stalled in road gear.) I think it should pull it's self with brakes applied in 1st gear. If it can be stalled easily in 2nd gear it's days are numbered.

If you pull out on the highway or hard road w/ engine at slow speed and push hydro lever all the way to fast position and then throttle all the way up does engine speed up without ground speed increase,......... days are numbered.

Hyd temp will probably run higher than normal.
Does JD still pull hydro pump with belt?.........tension??

Does it stall equal in forward and reverse, if not you may have a relief valve bypassing.

Maybe someone else w/ JD experience will chime in.

Have a good day,
John
