Subject: ? re storing old crop and new crop soybeans together........

Oskaloosa, Iowa 52577

I was asked the question today as to whether or not one can dump new crop soys on top of old crop...........not my situation since all of ours are contracted and shipped before new crop.

However,  I was always told that to stack new crop in with old crop was to cause the old crop to absorb moisture from the new, which would usually result in an out of condition situation.  And, with soys, where the fans would not usually be run, the old would be severely dried out if the fans had to be run, since they would be on the bottom.

Comments?

Thanks.
