Subject: Re: What is a bushel??

Even the definers can't agree on a definition. Some say eight gallons, some say eight imperial gallons and the "real" definition appears to be eight "dry" gallons which is about as outmoded as the bushel!!

Most will probably say do away with test weight standard altogether. But, what about the real light, chaffy grain that comes from drought or early frost conditions (to name a couple). Is it fair for that to recieve the same price as good, heavy, quality grain??
