Subject: Crop Scouting Reports

Martinsville, Ohio

I was comparing notes with Jim Schwartz, http://www.icorn.com/igronomist_info.aspx

yesterday and thanked him for his newsletter updates while we were talking in a corn plot.  He reached over and pulled an ear with Diplodia ear rot like he pointed out in his most recent newsletters.  He has a good newsletter and if you are not subscribed you might consider it.

Another agronomist was reporting 500 acres of seed soybeans being sprayed for Frog Eye Leaf Spot in soybeans in our area.

The fields that have been sprayed with fungicide and/or insecticide look good and I have been in many.  I assume it is the same in your area?

Dr. Bob Nielsen gave a good update on transgenic corn events.

Leon Corzine gave a good update on NCGA activities.

This was at the Southwest Ohio Corn Growers field day yesterday near Washington CH, Ohio.

Curious what you have been seeing and hearing.

Thanks,

Ed
