My argument with the present exemption "pilot requirement" is the "currency status".

Why do you have to have a current medical? Especially "why" since one of the qualifying certificates is a sport license which would allow self-certifying medical.

I see no need in the currency requirements for the pilot's license. Just because you've done stalls, unusual attitude recovery (under the hood) or full-ILS approaches on a biennial, what value is that to drone flying?
