Kind of depends on which human you are attempting to replace.

Seriously though, there is no drone at this point that actually scouts weeds. By that I mean identifies the species and density early emough that you can actually use the information in making herbicide applications.

Lots of playing with taking things like NDVI and mapping density. So if you want to consider a picture taken late enough that the weeds are dense enough to make a significant difference in covering the grounf, scouting, then sure. I would think by then you can just ask the right guy at the cafe and he will tell you that you have problems. So you can use them a bit to see if the herbicide worked, but note that there is just a window where it works before an NDVI saturates.

Drones are likely going to be a bit more effective in telling you that the leaves are more infected in one area of the field than another. A lot of this is kind pf a post mortem to try and avoid death and destruction next time.

Someone may figure it out at some point. The thing is that would create actual value so you can expect the price tag to be somewhere around a combine.
