I'm not an expert on filters but have had plenty of experience with them.
I suggest you start out with an ND8 filter for the bright sunny days (really high light).
All my films/videos were shot with an ND8 filter. (even on cloudy days with exposure adjustments))
Remember filters are like sunglasses - helping to reduce light to the lens, etc.
With all your shooting, used the "over exposure warning" and your "histogram" (turn them on in your GO app).
Filter or not, let your histogram be your guide. Know how to read a histogram. It is the best tool you have for quality work.

Keep in mind you will NEVER get a perfect dome histogram - Just make sure all your whites (right side of histogram) and blacks (left side) are inside the histogram frame - when possible.
This captures all the data from pure blacks - thru - pure whites -with all the mid tones in the middle.
