Well my maintenance time this year has been about 0 minutes!
I do wish they didn't give the impression updates need to be done the first time you turn it on. You don't need do them at all, and far better to consider if the minor fixes are of benefit to yourself later when you have a better overview. The updating is not exactly user friendly with some things requiring SD card and others done via the app.
