You are in the heart of AGeagle (a flying NIR wing) country.. and you say 160 acr fields.. look into a fixed wing setup for that many acres ata time. I know several wing owners in the area shown on the map next to you "name". We use a wing for 160 acres and more per flight (up to 640 per flight). The flight time on 160 @ 30 min. ( better plan on 1 hr minimum) , launch thru landing, then 2 hr image work, then ground proof the map, then work up the RX from the shape file in the applicators controler and go top dress all day. We like agleader SMS for that.
Small acres (less than 40acr > single battery missions) can be done with a quad copter like the DJI P3 series, shop around. The DJI P3A does all we need done (no camera mods> false NDVI "maps").. DroneDeploy can help you setup and fly the field almost in full auto mode. DD can also process you images. If you want higher NDVI level results, a good NIR camera is the next thing to bone up on. We keep it as simple to use and work with as possible. Creating and impimenting shape files for RX setups is another schooling altogether. The world of image based farming decisions is very workable, the time involved from preflight to shape file generated RX application isnt a time friendly undertakeing. I will also add that you will get what you pay for in the "equipment" end, dont skrimp too much.. expect some development and implimentation hicups, stuff happens.
