southern MN | I was 5 years old when they stopped doing silage here, the silo got porous. So I have brief memories of the green and orange chopper pulled by a Oliver gas tractor, the neighbors with their 100bu wood barge boxes converted to false fronts and higher sides to pull the silage off..... Driving along the side of the slowly moving 2 row chopper, I got to ride along a couple times. There wasn't a cab tractor involved at that time, think it was 3 or 4 neighbors, my uncle ran the chopper, the other 3 ran wagons.
Always fascinated me how everything gets controlled with these big rigs, at that speed, to keep the spout aimed at the empty part of the wagon or trailer. Would seem there is a lot going on with big volumes and seems the trailer trails behind a lot, would be hard to watch everything in all directions.
Nice video.
