Subject: Fungicides

Ottawa, Ontario
Fungicides are a must if you want a good crop. This year I went with 2 apps of Bravo then 2 of Cabrio; one week intervals starting Aug 1. This year I only have 13 acres in vs the 20-25 I usually grow. Its been so hard to find decent labourers to harvest and is always a frustration, so I cut back this year. As it turns out I should have kept my acres up 'cause I have had calls from buyers that I haven't heard from for years.

Its been wet here too. I only have 7 of my 75 acres of whites off, and only 20% of my soys are near being ready. Corn looks as good as last year (160bu) less some of the spots that were drowned out in May (10 days of rain started May 11, just after planting)

Are you guys using some of the powdery mildew tolerant varieties?
