I worked for Deere on a project in about 98 or 99, I think.   We were grabbing machine info off of the CAN bus (their proprietary one) and using a store-and-forward wireless link to log it in the office.  Tractor operators never even knew it was happening.   The info is all out there.   Just need to convince the right people that there is value in it.

Here is a map of three-point-hitch height (ie, draft) pulling a ripper in very tight soil.   The agronomist at this farm was able to make a determination that he could get by with double-ripping on less acres after viewing where the tough spots were from the first pass.

Left edge of the field was not using draft control.
