| Please remeber to take the keys out of your equipment at night!! We were victims of a string of farm machinery vandalism last night.
Our neighbor to he west found the 1000 bu grain cart upside down in the county ditch this morning. The tractor, which happened to be brand new yesterday, turned up 1.5 miles down the road running against a tree. It appearently followed the road ditch and the weight rack hit a tree kept running until the tires were burned off.
Our 4wd tractor, which was parked at site with 6 pig barns had the windows smashed and the key missing. We think that they tried to start it, but believe that they couldn't get it started since the parking brake was not engaged, so smashed it instead. We think they planned to drive it into the pig barn.
Heading east, the turkey farm found their tractor and manure spreader driven through the side of the turkey barn.
The insurance agent reported at least 5 other cases, but I don't know the specifics.
