| We've seeded ten crops with Seed Hawks, four years with a 47 ft @10.5" spacing, and the last six years with a 60ft @ 12"spacing. Our current machine has had 3 flats and 0 bearings changed in over 21,000 acres. There were paint issues with the older units, but powder coating appears to have alleviated the problem. Regarding "moving parts", they are designed to control each seed each row's depth independently, with a small hydraulic cylinder that lifts and lowers the opener and is pressure adjustable to allow the openers to "trip", and also to adjust the ground penetration for varios conditions. We have changed no parts. | |
