We recently purchased a 5 acre lot that joins our farm, it's been fallow for about 4 or 5 years. Briers were a problem so we did a total kill and planted wheat yesterday. After the fact, a neighbor stopped by and told us wheat would never grow behind sod, and we wasted our money.
This ground was rolled over, and mowed short after the kill.
