NC KS | I have had both and currently have a Ford V10. I do not regret owning the V10 at all. (Ford's V10 is different from GM and Dodge-high horsepower but efficient). I tend to buy high mileage for the year and drive them to higher mileage. A diesel's maintenance gets a lot higher as the miles goes up. Plus fuel for at least half of the year has been running $.40 higher. It has been my experience the gasser and the diesel will pull the same loads at the same speeds. The diesel will be pulling in overdrive, the V10 will be in direct and the 5.4s and smaller will be using second a lot. My overhaul fuel mileage for my driving will be about 2-3 miles to the gallon less. If you are towing a trailer more than half the time, get the diesel. Do you always trade every 3-4 years? Diesel might be the choice there, also. | |
