| I stepped someone else through this procedure a year or to ago. Sorry that all the diagrams from the parts/service manual I scanned for that project are still in Mom's computer downstairs, I don't want to wake her up by creeping around at this hour. I'll post them tomorrow.
The long drive shaft turns at 1000 RPM, when new the 1000 RPM machine version just deletes the 540/1000 gearbox in the tounge. You just need to order the parts: you need the short shaft that goes from the rear of the PTO shaft to the slip clutch, the bearings it runs on and the bearing housing bracket that bolts in place of the old gearbox. You can reuse the old PTO shaft just have to subtitute the correct yoke to fit the tractor end.
Certainly doesn't take all winter, it can be bolted together in a few hours.
