Subject: Are tractors getting too complicated for our farms?

Whatever happened to the easy to drive tractors? The Fargo Cat dealer brought my neighbor had a Challeger tractor to try (about a 240hp FWA). He said when he finally got it moving it was OK, but he could often spend 3-5 minutes just getting it to move forward or back. To get it to move, you had to go into the monitor settings and press some buttons as it would default back to neutral, regardless of shifter position or the forward-back toggle position. I am sure when a guy gets used to it, it would be OK, but holy cow it seemed complictaed to me when I tried it. We might have 7-10 different guys in a tractor during harvesting beets, so training everyone to operate an electronic tractor like this would not be an option for me.
