Nothing wrong with being a gear banger Rich. Our 4020 gets used every day on the feedwagon as a rule. Pride won't let us retire it. Modern conveniences are hard to beat in some areas, but I'll jam gears in a truck anyday as well when compared to these newfangled automatics. Don't see anything wrong with the equipment you run. Some of the stuff you are seeing aren't dad's stuff in the pictures either. We farm in a partnership w/ an uncle as well. Hopefully we can exit peacfully before it kills the old man though....after all he is 60 with a bad ticker.
