I'm a loyal Vermeer guy and my dealer is the best out there but if Vermeer wouldn't have came out with the M, I would have probably shelled out the extra 10,000 for a ( ooohhh this hurts to say ) JD baler. When it comes to baling stalks its all in the pick-up and feeding system.
I thought I was done with stalks for the year but some neighbors reminded me differently. So I figured what the heck they didn't seem to care about how much trash was left behind so we dug the ol' MC Rotary Scythe out of the BIG wide open blue shed. I'll post some pictures on the differences between using the rake and the "chopper".
As far as making a round baler really perform in stalks let me tell you I know all of the words to use.
