My thoughts exactly,those caps are super hard. I have had some luck inserting a bearing relube needle through/under the rubber seal and relubed sealed U joints,balljoints,tie rod ends. On a greasable U joint,never use a grease with a solid additive like moly. The spinning joint will act as a centrifuge which will set all the heavy solid additive in the bottom of the caps untill it builds up deep enough to plug the lube holes in the cross. When this happens,you end up with one dry burned out cap ,and three perfectly good ones that are still getting lube.
