Fruita CO | It's hard to tell by looking, w/the newer style dampers. The ones on 4020's would literally come apart & make a hell of a noise, you might see something visible on a 466, but I doubt it. Rubber pooching out would be a dead giveaway...I've changed out quite a few, & never really seen one that looked bad, even on a 4850 that busted the crank...I look at it as sort of an insurance policy, it's a LOT cheaper than a broken crank. 466's will bust a crank now & then, so I feel Mother Deere knows what she's talking about on this one.
