South-Western Ohio | had a 4690 back several years ago,it would eat at least 2-3 a year.One time i was driving it home from the dealer after just getting a seal fixed and got 3 miles away and low and behold another seal went out.So turned around and took it back.This all took place while under warranty,after the warranty ran out and Case wouldn't stand behind the seals,it found a new home.Traded for a bend in middle 8640 Deere and was money well spent.
The Case also was hard to keep exhaust manifold gaskets and manifolds from cracking,never ran hot or anything like that.Lost a couple turbos also.We had other Case tractors at the time and they were great tractors and no problems,but the 4690 liked being worked on. | |
