Where are you located?
I have been growing stand up peas for several years now, but 3 out of 4 years they will be right on the ground anyway come harvesttime. Normally due to heavy showers.
Going with lifters can be a real pain on wet and soft ground. Guess it is easier though with modern combines with more sophisticated (electronic) header hight controll than the system on mine which relies solely on the pressure in the hydraulic cylinders for maintaining a preset hight.
