Subject: row cleaners for 15" spacing

Driftless SW Wisconsin

Yes we do have a couple row cleaner options for 15" and 20-22" spacing. The choice depends a bit on what you are going into and what planter you want to put it on.

Our narrow row coulter combo with our smaller swept back tooth wheel works well on some 15" planters such as the JD 1790 and Kinze Twinlines going into standing corn stalks.

We also have a new, no-coulter arrangement which looks good in field tests so far on some VERY heavy 20" 200 bu corn on corn in SD. Our new pn 1138F Stem Assembly is a new flatter stem angle with our new 12.75" dia swept-back forged wheel set on a fixed, lightly intersecting stem. The swept back teeth don't throw residue so far but still bite into a mat and leave a cleared strip.

Same Timken bearings, regreasable hubs, triple lip seals & acme screw depth adjustment. This stem fits in our existing mounts. It is not for loose worked ground with lots of loose root balls, however. For worked ground a simple solution is our single wheel row cleaner. All have acme screw row cleaner height adjust mounts.

Are you looking at 15" beans or 15" corn? It is amazing to see a uniform stand of row planted, row cleaned beans emerging.

I have had a couple conversations recently where customers have had severe cyst problems in beans, does anyone know if row cleaning helps?
