Why bother with a defacer? We use a JD 6410 with a 640 loader, fitted with a bucket and grapple. It doesn't take much effort to keep the silage face almost as tight as a facer would. The grapple is also sure a bunch handier for other tasks than a facer would be. Mounted on a skidsteer, I'm sure it wouldn't take you long to find uses for a grapple besides loading feed.
