I'd have to disagree with the Cummins influince. The NEF engines look very much like the IVECO's of past but have a number of features similar to Genesis engines like the intgrated oil cooler. Given the time frame from the joint venture anouncement to the release I doubt that there is anything Cummins related besides the use of grid intake air heaters.

These engines are great torque producers unlike the old 8000 series IVECO. They seem to match the Genesis in that respect.

The 7.8, 10.3 and 12.9 Cursor are not complex engines. In fact with the overhead cam they are straight forward and simple. Obviously they could be made more simple with full authority electronic injection fuel system instead of the electronic unit injector system but they are exceptional of fuel usage and power.
