Think about how long the wire harnesses would be for a ship.
I was thinking about buying a loader and one dealer had one on an auction. Pictures showed a lot of corrosion. I called dealer and asked questions. Loader was less than 10 years old. He said it lived in a dry fertilizer shed. They had traded for and resold 2 similar loaders like it in the past few years. He said electrical issues really caused a lot of problems.

Wire harness? This ship probably generates and consumes more power than a town for 2,000 people. Think of all the refrigerated shipping containers on this vessel. Each one requiring 3 phase 480volt at 60 amps. Multiplied by 1000s. It has its own electrical grid, definitely a little more than a wire harness.

Edit to add, it's actually quite amazing this thing is 99% self sufficient away from the dock and is maintained by a handful of crew of what less than 50?
