As an employer,,,if you want to be on the correct side of lawsuits and possibly the USDOL you will mandate a minimum 30 min lunch.We are moving to a mandatory 60 minute lunch,unpaid,but we pay breaks in the AM and PM of 15 minutes. Say Billyjoe never takes lunch,,3 years down the road the attorney she hires claims you made her work lunch times..guess what ,,,the only proof she has checks showing how many hours worked,,you have the time cards(required by feds to keep them 3 years) and they come take a peek...Guess what. you pay and pay some more,,,as she was discriminated against and not allowed lunch break but all others did..it means mega payout,,the lawyers know this..You dont have the time cards??well thats a fed violation,,still guilty..Do not ever let an employee work thru without lunch,,,danger. as it gets
