Parsons Kansas | I have heard and read that no matter what the weather or conditions you mow your alfalfa every 28 days. I just can't bring myself to do that if I know it's going to rain or we have a good chance of rain. In my part of the world the weather is so unpredictable (Southeast Kansas). They say that more damage by waiting for oppertune time then doing at 28 days and your hay gets wet. I must tell you all also that I only have 40 acres of alfalfa ( I realize not much but it sometimes is enough for a 1 man operation) so sometimes I can wait out the weather where a big producer can't. Just wanting some opinions. Thanks | |
