NW Washington | I think the previous wheat crop has been dead long enough that most of the wheat disease pathogens have died. Kill any remaining wheat or grassy weeds a couple weeks before seeding the wheat if possible. The crop probably won't be as good as if it were seeded on land that had not grown wheat for two or three years, but the first re-crop of wheat is usually not too bad unless you have some real serious disease problems. Just make sure you have enough fertilizer and watch out for diseases and grassy weeds. | |
