He was needing hay and so were we. We ran a rotary cutter behind the combine ourselves and he did the raking and baling. He had a pretty hard time getting them through the baler, but I think we ran the mower tractor too slow and chopped the stalks up too much. I'm basing this on what my cousin told me about the stalks he rolled up. Said he was having trouble until he slowed the ground engine rpm's down on his mower tractor and maybe increased ground speed a little. Here's a few pictures of the finished product. Oh yeah, in our experience, rolled corn stalks are really hard to handle. If the strings break, it goes everywhere! Net wrapped would be much, much better.
