| Before our local John Deere dealership changed hands a while back, we couldn't get the salesmen to return our calls. We have good credit, at that time we were in the dairy business which was a very good part of agriculture to be in at the time. We were comparitavely new to the area though. They missed out on 3 new tractor deals and possibly some haying equipment too. We bought a 946 MoCo from the present owners with the same office/sales/parts/shop staff as the previous owners.
Our local New Holland dealer does the "don't try to sell that piece of equipment, I want to sell it" routine with his salesmen, two guys have quit over it.
The Chev/GM dealer once told Dad that he couldn't afford a used Cadillac they had on their lot and wanted to show him a 4 year old Lumina instead. He didn't buy it, has never been back and has owned 6 or 7 vehicles since. He's no GM fan and that's the root of it. Not sayin' it's logical but there it is. | |
