Recalling this similar message you posted some time ago, you must had been a 'newbie', starting to farm after years of working in cities. The JD salesman likely pulled a credit report on you showing you never had a sizeable machine purchase in your life. That's what I heard from my aunt who worked in an implement dealership where her boss preferred reading credit reports and sell anything expensive to a newbie for cash only unless unless he personally knew newbie's father or grandfather. When I started to farm after being away out of state for years, I met a dealer I didn't know personally to buy a big implement. He said he'd make a good deal with me anytime, pointing to my father......"I know your dad very well and he's good."
