| I want to know what the real risks are of running devices that are old enough that the operating system can no longer be updated.
1. Chromebooks that were last able to be updated in 2019
2. MacBooks that can’t run the last 2 versions of OSX
3. iPhone 7’s which can’t get iOS 16
Should you avoid conducting financial transactions on any of these devices? If so, why? Doesn’t 2 factor authentication really increase your protection even on out of date devices?
What about Chromebooks and MacBooks being out of date but not being used for financial stuff? What is the risk with them?
If these devices are on a network with lots of other devices, can the serve as vectors for attacks to up to date devices on the same network? | |
