Floyd County, Iowa | An update.
I tried deleting pics and downloads, uninstalling unused (unnecessary) programs, defragging. Nothing gained me much. Our desktop has a lot more of everything on it, and runs half the gigabytes that the laptop did. I bought the laptop from the corporation that my daughter works for. They routinely replace their laptops. The tech department goes through them and removes all of their data and programs, understandably. When they did this one, they removed some of the Win7 accessories and tools, and I think they did some other changing as well. It gave me trouble, off and on, trying to do some things, from the beginning.
I finally just pulled the trigger and bought a new HP laptop with Win 11, from Staples. A learning experience with 11, but it is what it is.
