| I have the first version of Google mesh routers. I have had them for 7-8 years or whatever. Under Verizon Fios, they worked well as I spaced the 3 along the top floor and the signal got into the basement at 5 Ghz to run several roku boxes in the basement.
I moved several hundred miles to a new house that is only one floor with one step out of a garage. I had to get a new internet company as Verizon Fios is not in this state. So I got a new kinda local company. I thought all the network companies required you to pay for your router. I asked for a router. I was at the house when the company person came to put in the equipment. I saw he was going to put in the new eero routers. I said why are you going to put in those. He said that I asked for a router. I said I have the google mesh. He plugged the google mesh router into the companies equipment. Works great and no $15 dollar charge a month.
Are there better routers out there, probably. These google mesh have been paid for years. | |
