Central Nebraska | I'd think so but no guarantees. The reason that we have to use mesh systems or systems with multiple access points is because as technology has progressed two things have happened. The 2.4 ghz range is incredible crowded and messy. It only has 3 non overlapping channels so to make it stable the power needs to be turned down. This problem is most noticeable in densely populated areas with lots of access points but it impacts us in rural America because we try to cover larger areas! Secondly, 5 mhz range doesn't penetrate walls and/or vegetation as well so it doesn't travel as far. It also isn't as messy because it has significantly more non overlapping channels. When I setup systems I often turn the 2.4 power down to low and the 5 up to high if given the ability to do so. |
