I've never heard of this, and off the top of my head, I can't think of any reason the system would respond as you're describing... Time of day definitely shouldn't matter at all, so I'm thinking it must have something to do with changing atmospheric or crop conditions that happen when the sun goes down. Again, not something I've ever seen...

Was this AFS system factory installed or dealer installed?
