Subject: Cooking and cleaning

Pittsburg, Kansas
Wife soaks them in milk sometimes over night.

When we catch them they go right into an old ice chest half filled with ice and water. This essentially kills the fish fresh and also makes them easier to clean.

Ours are mostly bluegill, hybrids and channel catfish with the occasional small or large mouth bass or hybrid striped bass.

We clean between 100 and 300 annually, all from our own ponds. Usually do 20-30 at a time. We have a 3x3 live cage attached to the dock we keep the fish in till we have a big enough batch to make it worth the effort to clean. Have a fish cleaning station right on the dock.

We used to bread our fish like everyone else. Now since low carb eating we just use crushed pork rinds or nothing. Bacon grease.

Fried, baked or air fried mostly. Unless we have a fish fry with friends over. Then deep fryer in lard.
