In a nutshell, they're linking a lot of mental health issues to metabolic issues which can (potentially) be overcome by fasting. Ketogenic diets mimic the benefits of fasting fairly closely. Carnivore and especially all beef diets mimic fasting even more closely. An all beef diet can essentially allow you to "fast" in perpetuation. | |
