Cattle are high priced. The government is willing to subsidize the cow calf producers with insurance. Today you can lock in a 850 lb steer born this coming spring for $2.50 minimum after all premiums are paid.
Over your life time how many years have you been able to pre sell a calf for a minimum of $2125 with no limit on the top side?
